Mark your calendars and get ready to call in sick for work… we’ve got another growler hike coming up on June 28th!
If you didn’t believe us before, maybe now you’ll understand how serious we are about hiking with beer. For this next growler hike, we’re going to be taking on Trail #40, also known as the Deerfield Trail. The section we’ll be starting at begins near Slate Creek Dam, and we’ll follow for roughly 2.5 miles before turning back after we reach Flanigan’s Cabin. Trail #40 is full of intriguing and little-known mining history, beautiful canyons, and lush creek crossings. If all of that doesn’t pique your interest, then maybe the chance of encountering wildlife will.
On our last hike we crossed paths with a majestic mountain goat, which we named Fillup (get it?). You never know what could happen this next time! So be sure to keep June 28th open on your calendar and join us on another adventure!
We’ll be meeting at Miner Brewing Company at 2 p.m.to fill up our growlers and plan to head out around 2:30 p.m. (carpooling is recommended to conserve parking space). We will meet at the trailhead behind Slate Creek Dam.
And of course, let’s practice the Leave No Trace Policy. Pack out what you pack in.
